It's been a while, I know. I don't know if my lack of posts stems from having too much to do or from having too much to write. I've always been a procrastinator - especially if given too many options or too much information. Hmmm. . . .something to think about, I guess.
While I have been procrastinating, Mr. Peanut has learned some new words. Lots of them, in fact. So many, that I think perhaps he could take over blogging from now on. Granted, he might only cover topics like Clifford the Big Red Dog, Elmo Visits the Firehouse and garbage trucks, but still. He could probably do it.
Some of his words are the usual suspects, but his most recent vocabulary acquisitions are: "amazing" and "masterpiece." Um, yeah. Those who know me well, know that those are two words that I don't actually use that often. But he does. And, he actually uses them correctly. For example, while watching the opening scene of the movie Cars after a month-long hiatus from the DVD, he exclaimed, "Whoa, amazing!" I think I choked.
Today, while reading stories before nap time, he pointed to the picture of one of the characters painting a picture and said, "my masterpiece." And that was just the beginning. He has since claimed lots of things as his "masterpieces." We may have to have a talk some day about original vs. copied works, but right now, I'll let him glory in his new word.
Despite his use of the two- and three-syllable words, my little Peanut also knows how to keep it real. To illustrate: during church on Sunday, he was in the foyer with his dad for a while. He wandered back into the chapel (thankfully, not during the sacrament portion of the meeting), scooted into the pew where I was sitting and proudly announced, "Bubby toot!" I'm pretty sure that everyone within three rows heard his declaration. Yep, my brilliant little boy knows how to keep it real.
